Michelle, I think these are really great!
The second one is my favorite, I think the light coming from the bottom really helps support your idea the most. It really feels like its breathing!
I also like how you cannot see the full candle, its mysterious and not so literal, which is good.
keep up the good work!

Hi Michelle,

Great atmosphere, temperature, intensity, drama!
I like #1 for it's abstract and modern quality. (I don't think, though, that Medea font is right for this composition. It seemes that it should be more modern, plain. I see that you are in love with this typeface because you repeat it each of your very different compositions. At first, I thought these are my initaials : ) because the M looks like OM : )

I also like very much #2 for the archaic and passionate feeling it evoke. The only thing I would do is to play with this composition a little more and create the flame out of type. In this case, your script typeface could be appropriate, although it has the same stroke width, which is unnatural for the flame. I am attaching a quick sketch of how I would reverse the composition. I also don’t think that the wooden floor is right.

Overall, great job!
