The Lottery poster and Visual Music silk flag

Hey this is Matt, and this is approximately what I'd like the visual music silk flag to look like (top), and an unfinished version of the pictogram with type (bottom).  Feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Matt,

I like how is looking the visual music, but I think that you should solve something. When you use a typeface that looks like handwriting typeface, try to make some differences between the same letters. When you write something you never do two letters exactly the same, there is always something different.

The second one I really like the way it is going. The only thing that I would change is the last cross. Try to make it smaller and change it into red. I think that would give you a wonderful contrast!

And... That is it!

Hi Matt,

Thank you for your great comments.
Please bring a print your visual music piece in 5x6 or 6x5 along with your visual music sample). We will look at them in class. I will bring a matt board cut to these sizes.

About your poster. I finally familiarized myself with your story. How scary!!! What do I have to learn from it? I can't believe, it was a requirement to read in Hight school. What is the educational message?

Anyway, it is a striking story and you expressed it elegantly, despite not very elegant content.

Please, don't forget to use the author's name. Think about its placement.

I agree with Gonzalo about the cross. It has to be emphasized somehow—color or size or additional white space around...

About type. I don't think it is a right typeface. It is a very classical serif typeface with very light strokes that look like harlines in your composition. The thickest stroke in your circles can be helpful in looking for a right typeface. I believe, it has to be sans serif and smaller to fit the style of your diagram . (Gotham, Universe, Frutiger, Din, Trade Gothic, Interstate...)

It is very smart to place letters in-between circles, but the last letter 'Y" seems lonely on the last raw.

Also, second and third raws are absolutely identical. Why? Do you need the third raw? It not only stops the transition from the first circle to the last one, but might be an obstacle for your type.

I also would like you to try 5 (!) different positions of type in your composition. Yours might be the best, but out of curiosity—challenge yourself.

Great Job!
